On October 25, 2025, Double Quarter Pounders (FTC 23928) brought a "spooky" side of STEM to our local community's Halloween Trunk-or-Treat. Our team transformed our car trunk into a mobile robotics lab, creating an interactive station where trick-or-treaters could take a break from the candy hunt to see a competition-grade robot in action.

Sporting our signature hamburger hats, we welcomed a parade of Spidermen, pirates, and ninjas to get a hands-on look at our engineering process. We showcased our journey through a detailed display board — highlighting our progression from Version 1.0 to 3.0 — and answered questions about how motors, sensors, and code come together to make the robot move. It was the best kind of outreach: high-energy, unscripted, and fueled by a mix of curiosity and Starbursts.

Seeing the kids' eyes light up as they watched the robot maneuver was a great reminder of why we do this. For us, the event wasn't just about handing out treats — it was about showing the next generation that building robots is just as exciting as any Halloween costume.

Events like this allow us to bring FIRST Tech Challenge out of the workshop and into the heart of our community. We had an incredible time sharing our passion for robotics with so many families, and we're already thinking of ways to make our trunk even more "high-tech" next year.
